Second Sunday Serials

In Second Sunday Serials, playwrights tell a story one month at a time. Each month, 5 short plays are performed; the Top 3 (as voted by the audience) advance to the next month, where the audience will see what happens next in each story alongside 2 new serials. All playwrights whose scripts are read receive a royalty for each month and continuing playwrights must submit the next installment by the first Sunday of each month until the story is wrapped up or they are no longer voted forward. Scripts must run no longer than 10 minutes (8 pages in standard Dramatist Guild format); longer scripts will not be considered. Scripts should tell a contained story with a clear story arc (beginning, middle, and end) and contribute to a larger narrative. Scripts should rely on compelling, three-dimensional characters and engaging dialogue to tell the story. Scripts should contain minimal stage directions.
