Midnight at Magik

By Venny Mortimer. A short play featuring world-class puppets, as seen on the Magik stage! Charlie, a night guard, watches over the Magik Theatre’s puppet workshop, where puppets come to life at night. Charlie talks with the puppets on what makes a good story, in hopes of writing their own. The play touches on dramatic structure, conflict, characterization, and other story elements, using hand puppets, headpieces, and marionettes. This play will also include a Q&A section with students, along with behind-the-scenes demonstrations of different puppet mechanics and types.
