The Generation Ship

Embark on an extraordinary voyage into the future of humanity as Phantom Lamp Theatre Company brings The Generation Ship to BMCA from February 19 through February 28. Crafted by Asheville playwrights Abby Auman, Jason Phillips, Katie Jones, and Quinn Terry, this compelling play offers a glimpse into the lives of travelers aboard a spaceship fleeing a destroyed planet Earth. Because the interstellar journey spans centuries, the pioneers who started the voyage will never see its conclusion, leaving the survival of humankind entirely in the hands of their descendants. Through a rich tapestry of monologues and scenes, the production expertly shifts in tone from darkly comic and poignant to beautifully surreal. Don't miss your chance to explore what it truly means to live on board humanity's last hope!
