Rumors

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Neil Simon’s timeless farce Rumors begins with four well-to-do couples who are invited to a swanky black-tie Manhattan party. When the other guests arrive, they discover a set of unexpected, unlikely and disturbing circumstances — their hostess is missing and their host, who happens to be the deputy mayor of New York, has accidentally shot himself. Suddenly, these eight successful professionals become scrambling lunatics, running for cover and turning on each other at a moment’s notice. One hilarious mishap after another whips up this frothy and funny evening of misunderstanding, intrigue and (of course) rumors. Catch all the comedic commotion when Rumors makes its way to North Hollywood’s Whitmore-Lindley Theatre Center.
